Alice Lenzi is a PhD candidate in Biomedical, Electrical and System Engineering at the University of Bologna, where she conducts research in systems identification, statistical learning, and advanced signal processing, with applications to the diagnosis and prognosis of complex dynamical systems. In line with her doctorate, she is tutor for the courses of Automatic Controls and Learning And Estimation Of Dynamical Systems.

She obtained her master's degree in Automation Engineering from the University of Bologna with top marks (110/110 cum laude), discussing a thesis on electric-cam mechanism monitoring through analysis of motor current signatures. Previously, she obtained a bachelor's degree in the same field, with a thesis focused on frequency methods for the diagnostics of rolling bearings.

During her academic career, she participated in the Erasmus program at the University of Stuttgart, exploring nonlinear control and predictive control, and also developed language skills in German. She has studied Chinese for several years, passing the HSK 3 (B1) exam in 2018.

During her masters, she completed an internship at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, working on biomedical image processing for analyzing the behavior of tumor cells, contributing to the construction of databases for tracking and dynamic modeling of observed phenomena.

In 2024, she was selected as a scolarship holder for the European Forum Alpbach, participating in an international interdisciplinary context on innovation, sustainability, and European policies, as part of the “Female Talents in STEM” program.
