The main research topics are the conversion of biomass with pyrolysis into easily fermentable compounds, the study of the influence of pre-treatments of biomass and the influence of post-treatment of pyrolysis products. Also, his research activity includes the anaerobic fermentation for the production of volatile fatty acids and the production of PHB.
As trasversal interests, his developing small scale automated systems for the fermentation utilising microcontrollers and 3D printing.
