Stefano Rizzi is a full professor of the degree course in "Computer
Science and Engineering" at the University of Bologna, Italy, where
he teaches courses in "Business Intelligence" and "Software
Engineering". He has published more than 110 articles about
information systems, mobile robotic systems, and pattern
recognition on international journals and conference papers. He is
coauthor of a research book on data warehouse design and of
two teaching books on relational database design and software
engineering. He has joined several research projects mostly on data
warehousing and taken part in research contracts between his
university and enterprises. From 2002 to 2004 he was scientific
supervisor of the University Data Warehouse project managed by the
University of Bologna. In 2003 he was appointed program chair of
the 6th ACM International Workshop on Data Warehousing and OLAP
(DOLAP) in New Orleans. Now he is a member of the DOLAP and ER
steering committees, and associate editor of the Journal of
Data and Knowledge Engineering. In 2008 he was area editor for data
warehousing in "Encyclopedia of Database Systems" edited by Tamer
Özsu and Ling Liu for Springer. In 2012 he was general co-chair of
the 31st International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER
2012), Florence. In 2013 he organized and co-chaired with Matteo
Golfarelli the First International Workshop on Social Business
Intelligence (SoBI 2013), hosted by ADBIS 2013 (Genoa, Italy).
Since 2013 he is member of the Computer Science PhD board of the
DISI department.
