Silvia Franzellitti was born in Rome (Italy) on July 25 th ,
1977. Graduated in Environmental Sciences (110/110 cum
laude) on 12 th of December 2001 at the University of Bologna
(Italy), she obtained the PhD in Environmental Sciences: protection
and management of natural resources at the Interdepartment Centre
for Environmental Science Research (CIRSA), University of Bologna -
campus of Ravenna on June 17 th 2005.In 2003, she carried out part
of her research activity at the Advanced Centre for Research in
Environmental Genomics, University of Ottawa (Canada), under the
supervision of Prof. TW Moon. From 2006 to 2011, SF was employed as
a Post Doc fellow at the Laboratory of Environmental Physiology and
Biochemistry (CIRSA, Univ. of Bologna), where she worked at the
evaluation of gene expression profiles and the related regulatory
mechanisms underlying the environmental stress responses in aquatic
organisms. From february 2012 to october 2013, SF was employed as
Post Doc fellow at the Interdepartmental Centre of Industrial
Research on Energy and the Environment (CIRI, Univ. of Bologna),
REACH research unit, where she worked at the setting up of new
methods for the evaluation of ecotoxicological and sublethal
alterations in aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates in the
framework of REACH Regulation. Since November 4 th2013, SF is
employed as a Researcher at the Department of Biological,
Geological, and Environmental Sciences of the University of
Bologna.
