Prof. Michele Sesta, born in Rimini on 22 July 1950, is Emeritus Professor at the University of Bologna. He has been
deputy Dean [of the Faculty of Law]
from 1994 to 1999.
He is a member of the steering committee of the PhD programme in
Civil law of the University of Bologna.
He has been national coordinator of PRIN 2005, title "Family and
liability", and he is currently national coordinator of PRIN 2009,
title "Provision of medical treatments, among the right to health,
the principle of self-determination and the efficient management of
medical resources".
He is a member of the direction committee of the law
journals Contratto e impresa and Giurisprudenza
italiana, and he is a member of the editorial board of
Rivista di diritto privato. He is also a member of the
scientific committee of the law journals La Nuova
Giurisprudenza Civile Commentata and Famiglia e
diritto.
He is a permanent collaborator of Lex Familiae - Revista
Protuguesa de Direito de Familia.
He is director of the series Nuovi percorsi di diritto di
famiglia edited by Ipsoa.
He is a member of the Academy of Sciences of the Bologna
Institute, division of moral sciences; Profesor Emerito of the
University of Mendoza (Argentina) and
Profesor Distinguido of the Universidad Externado de Colombia;
He has been awarded the title of "Doctor Honoris
Causa" by Universidad Interamericana de Morelos - Mexico;
Ha has been Professor on annual contract of Private Law at
Bocconi University - Milan;
He has attended several international conferences as
lecturer.
He is author of monographs and several articles.
