Michele Palermo

Dr. Michele Palermo is currently associate professor at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering of the University of Bologna. After completing his B.Sc and M.Sc in Civil Engineering at the University of Bologna in 2010, he earned a Ph.D in Civil Engineering in 2014. In 2011 and 2014 he conducted researcher at the University of Granada (Spain) and Berkeley (California), as a visiting researcher. His current research interests include earthquake engineering (behavior of new and existing structures equipped with dissipative devices, seismic behavior of RC structures with masonry infills, torsional response of planar-asymmetric buildings, seismic risk at urban scale), assessment and monitoring of existing structures and infrastructures, metal additive manufacturing (WAAM).
