Curriculum vitae

Luigi Di Stefano (Google Scholar) received the master degree “cum laude” in electronic engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 1989 and the PhD degree in electronic engineering and computer science from the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems (DEIS) at the University of Bologna in 1994. In 1995, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering of the University of Dublin, Trinity College. He is currently Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI) of the University of Bologna, where he leads the Computer Vision Laboratory (CVLab). Luigi Di Stefano teaches Computer Architecture for undergraduate students and Computer Vision and Image Processing for master students, both at the School of Engineering of the University of Bologna. The latter course is also taught within the master degree in Artificial Intelligence launched in academic year 2019-2020 by the University of Bologna. Luigi Di Stefano’s teaching duties include also an undergraduate course on Computer Architecture within the AlmaTong joint degree program in Automation Engineering between the University of Bologna and the Tongji University in Shanghai and a module on Computer Vision within the Master in Digital Technology Management – Artificial Intelligence Track at the BBS (Bologna Business School).

Luigi Di Stefano has supervised many master and PhD students, post-docs and research scholarship winners and is a member of the Board of the PhD program in Computer Science and Engineering at DISI. His research interests are focused on computer vision, image processing and machine/deep learning.
