Associate professor confirmed at the University of Bologna since 2008. She carries out her research in the field of biotechnology in the medical science. The research interests are focused in particular on the study of the in vitro behavior of stem cells from different human tissues as bone marrow, dental pulp and adipose tissue. She currently focuses his research on the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells isolate from perinatal tissues and on their immunomodulatory activity. As head of the research group, she is part of an agreement signed by the "Giovani Diabetici"Association, prof. Pession DIMEC and the "Miami Diabetes Research Institute" for the study on the regeneration of insulin-producing beta cells. She is engaged in national and international research projects. Author of many publications, she is member of national and international societies including the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IJMS) as Topic Editor of the editorial board. Since November 2023 she is Alma Mater Professor.
