RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

FBi is author of more than 250 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals, including: Nature Genetics, Journal of Human Genetics, Brain, Neurology, Annals of Neurology, Epilepsia

H-index=35 (scopus)

She has supervised more than 40 students for Bachelor/Master Thesis in the Courses of Medicine, (Speach therapy) Logopedia, EEG technician. She has given several invited and tutorial comunications at international meetings, schools and institutions.

Research focus

Since 2001, her research has focused on epilepsy, in particular on: the neurophysiological basis of paroxysmal diorder, the genetics of focal epilpsies and the differential diagnosis of nocturnal frontal lobe seizures and parasomias. In the last years the scientific activity of FBi has been highly focused on the search for new genes mutated in focal epilepsies, with two research grants presently active (Italian Ministry of Health Young Investigator Project GR-2009-1574072 to Dr. Tommaso Pippucci on the genetic basis of partial epilepsies and Telethon Foundation Project GGP13200 to Prof. P. Tinuper and Dr. T. Pippucci on clinical and genetic study of nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsies)
