Davide Bertaccini (1970), after a Master's Degree in Law from the University of Bologna, obtained a PhD in Criminology from the University of Trento and a Certificate of superior competences in Local Security Coordinator from the Emilia-Romagna Region. In 2018 was appointed as Research Fellow in Penal Law and in 2021 was promoted to Associate Professor in Penal Law at the Law Department of the University of Bologna.
He has received numerous fellowships to conduct research at national and international level, and he has taught master courses in various Italian universities and police schools.
His theoretical and empirical activity was mainly concerned with policing, private security, urban safety and crime prevention, criminal justice, prison system law, comparative study of penal systems, scientific translation of penal and penal procedure legislations.
