Full Professor of Business Administration and Accounting, Director of the Department of Management, Member of the Academic Senate of the University of Bologna. At the same University he teaches Management Control Systems and Performance Evaluation, Management Control, and Business Distress and Turnaround. As a researcher, he has studied management in education, corporate governance and internal controls, governance and accountability in universities, and the managerial challenges brought about by the circular economy and sustainable development. He is Co-Director of the Master in "Public Management and Innovation" at Bologna Business School (BBS). He is currently coordinator of three European projects in the field of sustainability and circular economy: 1) Horizon 2020 "Developing and Implementing Sustainability-Based Solutions for Bio-Based Plastic Production and Use to Preserve Land and Sea Environmental Quality in Europe; 2) Horizon Europe: Towards Sustainable Land-use Strategies in the Context of Climate Change and Biodiversity Challenges in Europe; 3) HORIZON-CL4-2023-RESILIENCE-01-21 - Innovative methods for safety and sustainability assessments of chemicals and materials (RIA). Within the framework of Partnership 9 of the PNRR, he coordinates the Project 'SDG-related curricula and graduates' employability: Embedding the Sustainable Development Goals in management education'.
