Short Bio

My research focuses on the psychological and contextual factors that influence health outcomes, particularly placebo and nocebo effects, clinician–patient communication, and patients' expectations. A central goal of my work is to translate evidence from placebo and nocebo science into clinical practice and health professions education, contributing to more effective, patient-centred healthcare. I coordinate and collaborate in national and international research projects investigating communication strategies, therapeutic relationships, and educational interventions, with a growing interest in the application of generative artificial intelligence to healthcare communication and education. My broader research interests include social cognition, face perception, and the psychological mechanisms underlying interpersonal judgments in healthcare settings.
