Yuting Xie received the B.E. and MSc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the School of Biomedical Engineering, Sichuan University (Sichuan, China) in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
She is a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences, University of Bologna since 2020. Her research interests are medical image analysis, computer-aided diagnosis, and machine learning.

Research activities
Since 2014, she works on her master thesis "Studies on the Automatic Evaluation System Based on BIRADS Standard for Breast Tumors in Medical Ultrasound Images.”, in cooperation with West China Hospital. During this study, she develops an automatic evaluation model based on feature extraction and machine learning tools to classify breast tumors into 6 sub-classes in medical ultrasound images.
From 2010 to 2014, she studies on the “Fully-Automatic Segmentation Algorithm for Multiple Breast Tumors in Ultrasound Images Based on Human Visual Mechanism and Level Set”, in cooperation with West China Hospital. In this project, she proposes an automatic localization model based on Human Visual Mechanism to localize multiple tumors in ultrasound images.
