Eng. Sara Di Donato is a PhD student at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) of the University of Bologna. In 2021, she obtained the Master degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bologna with a thesis on the analytical modeling of the multi-pass copper wire drawing process, and in the same year applied for a position in the PhD course in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences.
Her research is focused on modeling and optimizing metal forming processes, specifically on the cold wire drawing process and extrusion process. In recent years, she has specialized in the characterization of the elastic-plastic behavior of metals, in particular by means of the hot torsion test, focusing her efforts on methods for the development of flow stress curves as input to FEM codes.
