Niko Jaakkola is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics. He has published in top field journals such as
Journal of Public Economics,
Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and
Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. Niko's primary research interests involve the economics of climate change, and environmental and resource economics more generally. He mainly focuses on dynamic strategic behaviour: situations in which agents seek to behave optimally over time, when their actions interact (e.g. states reducing their carbon emissions over decades, when other states may respond). Niko holds a DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford, and a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia.
