Mehrdad Saeidi is a Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering "G. Marconi" of the University of Bologna. His scientific activity focuses on artificial intelligence for autonomous agents, with particular interest in reinforcement learning, wireless sensing, localization and multi-sensor fusion for navigation in complex and GPS-constrained environments. He also studies behavioral models inspired by human beings through computational methodologies of Pavlovian and instrumental conditioning, applied to adaptive decision-making of agents. It contributes to simulator development, experimental validation and scientific production in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
He received his Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bologna and a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Islamic Azad University, Najafabad. Prior to joining the University of Bologna, he gained over eight years of engineering experience in the fields of power electronics and electrical systems, working in industrial contexts and infrastructure projects.
