Manfredi de Bernard (PhD in Cultural Management) is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Venice School of Management, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, where he works on the Horizon Europe project HEPHAESTUS, studying craft sectors as entrepreneurial ecosystems, and is a member of the aiku – Arte, Impresa, Cultura research team. From November 2025 he teaches Cultural Policy at the University of Bologna, having previously taught the same subject at the Venice School of Management, Ca' Foscari University (2024-2026). He completed his PhD at King's College London in 2024, with a thesis on the cultural and creative ecosystem of London theatre, and previously held research and teaching positions at King's College London (2019-2024). His research deals with cultural and creative ecosystems, craft economies, and creative labour and careers, with attention to how micro-level careers, meso-level organisations and macro-level structures interact, through qualitative research methods, social network analysis and creative methodologies. His research has been published in Cultural Trends and Industry and Higher Education, and in edited volumes with Routledge and Edward Elgar.
