Professor Emeritus Alma Mater (since February 8th, 2024) and Professor of Human Anatomy. Senior scientist at the  Cellular Signalling Laboratory at the  Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences, Medical School, University of Bologna since 1990. Foreing Faculty/Visiting Professor (invited) at the University of Tsukuba, Japan since 2012. He has been awarded of several international prizes. Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Biological Regulation, serves as EB in numerous prestigious Journals. His research interest deals with inostitide-dependent signalling in physiology and pathology and has been recognised as one of the fathers of "Nuclear Signalling". President of the Italian Society of Anatomy and Histology for the three-year period 2022-2024. Since 2015 Perpetual Secretary of the Academy of Sciences of Bologna Institute-Physical Sciences.
