EDUCATION AND TRAINING

January 2023: License to practice as a Veterinary Surgeon (Ordine dei Medici Veterinari di Taranto)

June 2022: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, Slovakia. English experimental thesis "Circulating cortisol, thyroid hormones, glucagon and β-
endorphins as stress indicators in Norik muránsky periparturient mares and foals". Supervisor: N. František. Grade A- Excellent.

February 2017: Bachelor of Science (BSc), Livestock science and animal production technologies - Equine Science curriculum, University of Parma, Italy. English experimental thesis "Redox status evaluation in periparturient mares". Supervisor: C. Bresciani. Grade 110/110 cum laude.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

November 2025 - ongoing: Volunteer at INFA - reproductive management of mares and stallions. Supervisor: Prof. Gaetano Mari

February 2025 - ongoing: Research fellowship "Evaluation of inflammatory markers, bacterial contamination and antibiotic concentration in low volume uterine lavages in mares affected by postpartum metritis" - Tutor: Prof. Jole Mariella.

My research also focuses on:
• calcium metabolism and its role in retained fetal membranes in light-breed mares

• antibacterial activity of essential oils against pathogens associated with equine reproductive diseases

February 2023 - February 2025: Fellowship "Management of the equine peripartum period" - Tutor: Prof. Jole Mariella.

 August - October 2022: Externship at Clinica Veterinaria Piola (24/7 Equine Referral Hospital)

October 2016- July 2017: Equine veterinary technician
