Nota biografica

Jenna Randolph is a doctoral student on the Impact HAU research team in the Department of Cultural Heritage at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on social impact bonds and global health. In particular she is examining the ways in which indigenous knowledge can inform innovative finance mechanisms such as pandemic bonds and sukuks in the field of 'One Health' to develop holistic, preventive approaches to infectious, especially zoonotic, disease outbreaks on a global scale. Her case study focuses on innovative financial approaches to the novel Covid-19 pandemic in Senegal.

Jenna has conducted fieldwork in Africa, Latin America, and Western Europe. She most recently conducted fieldwork in the Kolda region of Senegal where she primarily focused on health system strengthening efforts for infectious disease, reproductive health, and nutrition. Jenna's primary research interests include the intersectionalities amongst topics of economic anthropology, medical anthropology, human and animal health, zoonotic disease, 'One Health', multispecies biopolitics, and reproductive health.
