Yanni Zikidis is a PhD student in Visual, Performing and Media Arts at the University of Bologna, researching environmental sustainability in the Italian Audiovisual Industries. Yanni holds a BA (Hons) in Film Studies and Media Production from the University of Glamorgan, UK and an MA in Post-Production Editing from Bournemouth University, UK.
As a professional, his work includes editorial work for prime-time television and sports broadcasting. In collaboration with Minca Ventures, he produced over 40 short films focusing on Social Enterprises, NGOs, circular economy and ecological initiatives in the Global South and Europe, contributed to the publication of Social and Solidarity Economy:The World's Economy with a Social Face (Routledge , 2017) and curated the videos of 3 MOOC courses on Social Entrepreneurship.
His research interests concern the implementation of sustainability norms in media production and distribution and socio-environmental change through screen media storytelling.
