Federico Ferri holds a PhD in European Law from the Universities of Bologna and Strasbourg (2015) and a Specializing Masters in Human Rights and Humanitarian Intervention (2011).
He conducts research in areas closely linked to sustainable development and innovation, especially under the paradigms of the internal market, external relations and fundamental rights. Among his major research interests are migration and development cooperation, environmental law and food security, intellectual/industrial property, alternative finance. Over last years, he has started to deal with the balancing of fundamental rights in the EU digital single market, with a major focus on IPRs.
Federico is also a civil attorney in the municipality of Bologna and collaborates with companies, institutions and reviews in Italy and abroad. In particular, he monitors the evolution of the EU secondary law and jurisprudence on migration on behalf of the journals "Immigrazione.it" and "Diritto, immigrazione e cittadinanza".
