Eliana Tossani

Eliana Tossani PhD. is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Bologna, Department of Psychology. Since 2005/06 academic years she has been teaching the courses “Clinical Psychology of Rehabilitation" and "Psychosomatics" for students attending the Master Program in Clinical Psychology. Eliana Tossani has authored more than sixty scientific products, including peer reviewed papers and book chapters. Her writing pays particular attention to issues of psychosomatic and psychosocial aspects of chronic illness, by examining psychological wellbeing and end-stage organ diseases and solid organ transplantation. Other research areas include the concepts of mental pain and tolerance for mental pain and their relationship with depression and suicidal ideation. More recently with her group of research, she is exploring the impact of parental chronic illnesses on children and adolescents’ psychosocial adjustment and she is testing the efficacy of an online preventive treatment for young carers.
