Edita Fino is a Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna since 2017.
She received her PhD. in Psychological Sciences from the University of Bologna in 2014. She has been a certificate program fellow at University of Basel (2009) and a summer school fellow at University of Stanford (2010) and University of Geneva (2013).
During 2017-2018 she has served as Consultant for refugee mental health and psychosocial support issues with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and from 2019 is Consultant with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Prior to that, she has also served with the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
Her research interests focus on social, affective and cognitive processes related with stress, trauma, burden of disease and caretaking behavior. She studies these issues in patients affected by various pathologies and in particularly at-risk population (i.e., refugees and migrants) and professional groups (i.e., healthcare workers and students of medical sciences).
