Nota biografica

I am at the University of Bologna since November 2018.

My research interests are cluster analysis, multivariate data analysis incl. classification and data visualisation, robust statistics, foundations and philosophy of statistics, statistical modelling and applications.

I was Senior Lecturer in Statistics at UCL, London, 2005-2018. I studied Mathematics in Hamburg and Statistics in Dortmund. I promoted at the University of Hamburg in 1997 and habilitated in 2005. In 2017 I got my Italian habilitation. After having obtained my PhD, I worked as research assistant and lecturer at the University of Hamburg and ETH Zuerich.

As of October 2023 I do office hours on Tuesday, either 12:00 or 14:30, depending on whether Modern Statistics& Big Data Analytics is taught Tuesday morning or afternoon. Appointments are also possible outside these times.
