EDUCATION

2010-2011 - Postgraduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching in Higher Education (PGCert); accredited by the Higher Education Academy and awarded by the School of Education, University of Brighton (United Kingdom, UK).

This certificate is a requirement in order to teach at Higher Education level in the UK; it is based on a one year theoretical and research-based pedagogical programme concerning learning and teaching in Higher Education.

2004-2009 - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) awarded by the University of Brighton (13 July 2009).

This PhD research project was fully sponsored by the University of Brighton and consisted on an exploration of the power dynamics underlying the cultural politics of change in English coastal resorts and the role of tourism in the transformation process that attempted to convert first generation cold water postmature seaside towns in England into sustainable cities by the sea.
