Since the dissertation, his research fields are different, but
always connected to the archaeological projects of the Department
of Archeology of the University of Bologna. The main research
fields are:
- study of the results of the excavations of Suasa, with
particular reference to the issues of the Roman wall
paintings (aspects of the ancient technology, methodology of
documentation and reconstruction, restoration and valorization
problems, etc.); in this research field in December 1999 received
funding from the University of Bologna for the promotion of
innovative research ("Young Researchers Project", National funding
programme 1998). The research project focuses on the methodologies
of recovery and the analysis of ancient wall paintings;
- study of the valley of the Cesano river (provinces of
Pesaro and Ancona, Marche region), the territory of the Roman city
of Suasa. This research aims at completing the analysis of
the territory (already well known for the Roman era thanks to the
researches of the Department of Archeology of the University of
Bologna) during the late Roman and medieval periods in this area.
This study, then, is flanked by an archaeological survey the site
of the church of Madonna del Piano (formerly S. Maria in
Portuno) near Corinaldo (AN), under examination since
2001;
- analyses of the Roman and Late Roman phases of the ancient site
of the so-called “Palazzo di Teoderico” at Galeata

context of an international project in collaboration with the
Museum of Split. In Croatia, since 2005, started the "Burnum

Civic Archaeological Museum of Drns, with the aim of applying to a
Roman site (the Roman castrum of Burnum) the not
intrusive archaeological survey methods.
