He is the chairholder of the BNP Paribas Fortis Chair in Fraud Analytics, which investigates the use of predictive analytics in the context of payment fraud. His research interests are in the development and application of robust statistical methods for financial, actuarial and economic data sets. Since 2014 he teaches the course "Advanced Methods of Insurance 2" in the Master in Quantitative Finance at the University of Bologna.
Tim Verdonck is a professor at the Department of Mathematics of KU Leuven (Belgium). He has a degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Science: Mathematics, obtained at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). During his PhD he successfully took the Master in insurance and the Master in financial and actuarial engineering, yielding the title of actuary.
