I am a PhD (41st cycle) student in the Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences (STVA) program at the University of Bologna. My research under my project titled "High-Resolution Detection of Biosignature Preservation in Mars Analog Environments" focuses on understanding how biosignatures are preserved in terrestrial environments that serve as analogs for past Martian habitability. I combine advanced imaging and spectroscopic techniques to characterize micro- to nano-scale organic and mineral interactions that influence long-term preservation. Through integrated, multiscale datasets, my work aims to refine detection strategies for ancient life on Mars and contribute to the scientific foundation for future sample-return missions.
My supervisor is Prof. Barbara Cavalazzi and my co-supervisors are Dr. Keyron Hickman-Lewis and Prof. Axel Hofmann.
