Curriculum vitae

PhD student in Political and Social Science at the University of Bologna studying data-driven technologies and data policies in least developed countries. My research connects my legal background with my interest in socio-economic development and international relations, in particular international aid and the EU external relations with East Africa.

 

Education

Obtained a Combined Bachelor's and Master's degree in Law at the University of Bologna in 2019 with a thesis in European Union Law on cross-border data transfers between China and the European Union. Throughout my university career I spent an exchange semester at Leiden University (2016) in the Netherlands and at the China University of Political Science and Law (2018) in China. I carried out various legal internships in Italy, Romania and Estonia as well as at the Embassy of Italy in Tanzania and at the NATO Headquarters - Office of Legal Affairs in Brussels.

In 2014 I obtained the International Baccalaureate Diploma and New York State High School Diploma in the United States with an Extended Essay in contemporary history on the struggle of the German speaking minority in South Tyrol (Italy) in the 1960s. With the highest GPA of the graduating class (rank: 1 of 218) I was conferred the title of Valedictorian.
