Data Aggregation and Analysis for Urban Services

Engineering Informatica S.P.A. has several projects related to the field of Big Data Analysis, especially in connection with Smart Cities Innovation. The Thesis topic we are proposing here, in cooperation with the PhD program in Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Bologna, is about the investigation of techniques for aggregating and analyzing large quantities of data in order to provide to metropolitan service providers the basic components needed to build maps based urban services.

Urban data available, coming from different sources, will be published in a city data workplace and will be available to a graphical tool that allows Urban service providers to easily create more urban services, starting from data available.

Together with the open data released from public administration, legacy data and data coming from Iot platforms of the city will be used to populate the data workspace. Suitable tools will be used to collect and wrap legacy data in order to integrate them with the more recent data. Services using data will be constructed by using mainly the microservices technology.
