Stefano Diomedi is a mathematician and currently he is a Research Fellow at the department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Science within prof. P. Fattori’s research team at University of Bologna.
His university career began 5 years ago when he started studying mathematics at the University of Bologna and, after graduation, he continued his study with a master’s degree in applied mathematics.
Actually, he has a research project named ‘’neuroprostheses for hand control’’ and it is about the possibility to move a neuroprostheses using electrophysiological data from a very complex visuo-motor brain area located in the Parietal Posterior Cortex.
Currently he is working on the possibility to demonstrate the presence of different neural population from the same area that encode different behavioural epoch during a reach task, using a mathematical model named Hidden Markov Model.
