Stefania Proli holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Bologna (2007) and a PhD in Urban planning and Techniques from the University of Brescia (2011). Her PhD thesis, which focused on the legacy of the Italian planner Carlo Doglio, has been awarded by INU (the Italian National Institute for Town Planning) in 2012. Her main research interests lies in bottom-up planning theories and practices, community empowerment and urban sustainability. Since 2007 she has contributed to the teaching activities in the field of Spatial and Urban planning at the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Bologna, and to several research projects of the Department of Architecture. At present, she is Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Architecture of the University of Bologna.
