From 1981-1990 she works for the Azienda Regionale delle Foreste
dell'Emilia Romagna (Bologna, Italy) where she is in charge of a
research project, in collaboration with the University of Bologna,
on the micropropagation of some forest tree species, and later
(1988-1990) of the micropropagation unit. In July 1990 she became
Researcher at the University of Bologna (Faculty of Sciences),
and since 2005 she is Associate Professor in General Botany at the
same University (Department of Biological, Earth and Environmental
She teaches "Plant Biology and Diversity" in the Laurea Triennale (BSc) in Biological Sciences, "Plant Developmental Biology" in the Master's Courses in Molecular and Cellular Biology and in Biodiversity and Evolution, and one module of "Plant Interactions with Climate Change" in the International Master's Course in Global Change Ecology and Sustainable Development Goals.
She has been Coordinator of the
"Biotechnology and Differentiation Working Group" of the Italian
Society of Botany and is in the Editorial Board of
Plant Biosystems and Italian Botanist. She is currently a member of the Governing Board of the Italian Society of Botany.
She frequently revises manuscripts for
international scientific journals (Journal of Experimental Botany,
Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Plant Cell Tissue and Organ
Culture, Journal of Plant Physiology, Chemosphere, Journal of
Agricultural and Food Chemistry).
