Soroosh Kamali earned his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 2018, followed by the completion of his Ph.D. in 2023, specializing in Earthquake Engineering, both degrees obtained from Shiraz University of Technology, Iran.
Throughout his doctoral studies, Soroosh focused on research in operational modal analysis (OMA), concentrating on the development of the novel SOMI method. His contributions extended to the application of machine learning techniques for structural model updating and SHM. Concurrently, from 2020 to 2022, he designed various steel and reinforced concrete structures, while actively participating in seismic hazard analysis within the industrial sector.
In 2022, Soroosh transitioned to University of Bologna, Italy, as a leading software developer and research fellow specializing in SHM. He participated in research and development on SHM for three railway bridges in Italy, collaborating with multiple Italian companies.
Soroosh's research interests encompass OMA, structural model updating, data-driven anomaly detection, machine learning-based damage classification, temperature compensation, and risk-reliability analysis.
