Short Bio

In April 2021 I obtained a PhD from the Politecnico di Torino with a dissertation titled "The Icelandic Concrete Saga: Architecture and Construction (1847–1958)" (supervisors: Sergio Pace, Atli Magnus Seelow, Alberto Bologna). I'm currently a postdoctoral research fellow in Architectural History at the Department of Architecture, University of Bologna. I’m an adjunct professor at the University of Bologna, where I teach History of Industrial Design, and at the University of Florence, where I teach History of Contemporary Italian Architecture. I also teach at the University of Pavia and at the Italian University for Design (IAAD) in Bologna. My main research interests are: architectural and construction histories in the Nordic Countries, with a particular attention to Iceland; the cultural, social and technical history of reinforced concrete since the mid-nineteenth century; the connections between architecture, politics and memory; the architecture built during the fascist regime in Italy and our relationship with its difficult heritage today. I am editor of the journals in_bo, Histories of Postwar Architectureand Architectural Histories.
