Short Bio

Dr. Sofia Marini is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Sciences for the Quality of Life. She has been a Research fellow at the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences and she is a PhD in “Science and Culture of Wellbeing and Lifestyle” at the University of Bologna. Dr. Sofia Marini was born in Tuscany in 1992. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she gained a master’s degree in the Science and techniques of adapted and preventive physical activity, in 2017.

Her main areas of interest include: health promotion, physical activity for well-being, prevention of chronic diseases and improvement of the Quality of Life.

In 2016, she carried out a tutorship of Exercise Physiology in the Department of Physiology, Bologna.

In 2019, she spent a doctoral period abroad at Ulster University of Northern Ireland.

She is a fellow of the following Scientific Societies: European College of Sport Science, of the Italian Society of Hygiene and Public Health, of the Italian Society for the Promotion of Health and of the Italian Society of Exercise and Sports Sciences.
