Literary translator from Icelandic. From the last twenty years I've been working as translator and promoter of contemporary and medieval Icelandic literature in Italy.

Education
graduated in Languages and Literature at the University of Florence with a thesis in Germanic Philology, on Icelandic sagas (1992). Graduated at the University of Iceland in Icelandic Language and Culture (1996). Master course in Translation of English Literature into Italian, Ca' Foscari University, Venice. Specialisation Course Translating Literature, SSIT Misano Adriatico (RN).

Teaching
From 2011 to 2014 I was tutor in Icelandic Language at Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. From 2017 to the present day I am adjunct professor in Icelandic Language and Literature at State University in Milan, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. Since 2019 I am tutor at Alma Mater Studiorum di Bologna.

Scientific publications
International conferences, articles on Icelandic language and literature. I have written the part on Iceland in the volume "Storia delle letterature scandinave" (Iperborea 2019). I edited the translation of "Laxdæla saga" (Iperborea 2015).

Awards 
In October 2007 I was awarded a prize for promoting Icelandic cultural relationships in Italy from Icelandic prime minister Geir Haarde; in 2011 I was awarded the National Prize for Translation by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Affairs. In 2019 I was awarded the Orðstír prize for translation from the President of Iceland
