Short Bio

Graduated with honors in 1975, he conducted research on the use of tax sources. In 1988 he received his PhD in Medieval History (History of urban and rural) in the Department of History at the University of Florence. In 1990 he became Researcher in Medieval History of the Faculty of Magistero at the University of Bologna. In relations between dominant cities and local communities, it investigated the incidence of assets managed collectively. Given the importance of the sources of law, he has tended to place a confrontation scholars in the field, creating the Italian Committee for the studies and editions of the sources of legislation at the Senate Library. Since 2000 he is Associate Professor. In the following years the historical research has supported those relating to Teaching History. In this context it has promoted the project's "roots to fly" which since 2002 has involved hundreds of teachers and thousands of students of all levels in research and learning of history. In 2008 he founded at the Faculty of Education the International Centre for Education of History and Heritage (Dipast) of which he is still in charge Go to the Curriculum vitae
