Riccardo Campana received the master’s degree (magna cum laude) in telecommunications engineering from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, in 2021, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in “greener B5G and 6G NTN through virtualization and softwarization” with the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering “Guglielmo Marconi” (DEI). From April 2021 to December 2021, he received a research grant about simulation and emulations tools for the analysis of bandwidth efficient transmission techniques in NR NTN. His research interests include the study of techniques for the integration of non-terrestrial and terrestrial communication systems. The focus is mainly on the disaggregation and virtualization of the radio access network in non-terrestrial systems and machine learning.
