Curriculum vitae

In 1977, P. Pirillo graduated in Medieval History at the Florence University (supervisor professor Elio Conti). In 1978-79, he was fellow at  the Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Storici (Italian institute for the Historical Studies) in Naples. In April 1984, he got a grant to prepare a doctorate in Medieval History (Universities of Florence-Bologna-Rome). The thesis was defended in July 1988. From September 1988 until August 1991 he worked as Research Fellow in the Department of History and Civilization of the European University Institute (San Domenico di Fiesole, Florence). In 1993, he was appointed as researcher (Ricercatore) at the Bologna University. In 2000, he became Associate Professor (Professore Associato) at the same university and in the faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures. From 2007, Paolo Pirillo is Full Professor (Professore Ordinario).
