Paolo Lobba is a legal officer of the Council of Europe, presently serving the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT). He teaches European Criminal Law at the University of Bologna.
He was entrusted with research and teaching assignments at a number of international academic institutions, including the Columbia Law School (New York City), Humboldt University (Berlin) and Edge Hill University (Liverpool). He was awarded the Fulbright Research Scholarship as well as several DAAD (German academic exchange institute) research grants.
He has been serving various international institutions, including the European Court of Human Rights, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers and, as a UN staff member, the Khmer Rouge Tribunal in Cambodia. He was involved in civil society organisations active in the fields of environmental protection, sustainable access to healthy food, fight against poverty.
