Keywords: iconography middle age sculpture architecture late antiquity

The research deals mostly with sacred buildings in upper adriatic and Mediterranean area during Late Antiquity and Middle Ages. Studing are principally dedicated for sacred buildings in Emilia- Romagna. The research deals also with Goth, Langobard and Aglo-Saxon goldsmith. At the moment the survey is to study monuments, architectonical sculptures, liturgical fittings and also plans of that building with the purpose of complete studing of ecclesiastic buildings of the investigated area.

At the moment Paola Porta studies ancient medieval churches and monasteries situated in Bologna and the its lands. She also studies Langobard goldsmith from Spilamberto (Modena) necropolis.
