Studies and Didactic Activities


- In 2016 he was appointed to carry out a report for the II Justice Commission of the Chamber of Deputees of the Italian Parliament on the draft delegated law for the reform of insolvency procedures (so-called Rordorf reform)
- From 2003 to the academic year 2021/2022 he is adjunct professor at the University of Bologna, Faculty of Law, School of Specialization for Legal Professions "ENRICO REDENTI" year II – lecturer for courses (over the years) on The appeal in front of the Court of Cassation, The injunctions and precautionary measures in Italian civil procedure and The companies procedure (processo societario). He carries out his research in the field of civil and corporate procedural law as well as in commercial, industrial law and copyright.
- From 1982 to2020, with a some interruptions, he was a teacher in the preparation courses for the lawyer's bar exam organized by the Bolognese Forensic Foundation on various topics (civil law, corporate law, civil procedure);
- Since 1982 he has been a speaker at various conferences organized by the Presidency of the Council of the Italian Republic, the Luiss University of Rome, the University of Bologna, the Scuola Superiore di Studi Giuridici, the Scuola Superiore dell'avvocatura, the IGEP - International Group of Educational Publishers, the AIE Associazione Italiana Editori, the Aija International Association of Young Lawyers, the Council of the Bar Association, by the Lawyers' Union and the Lawyers Foundation in the field of copyright, corporate law, bankruptcy law and over-indebtedness crisis and civil procedure

- For the academic years 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 he participated as a lecturer in the seminar during the School of Specialization - Commercial Law - organized at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bologna on corporate law - reports on the theme "The complaint of serious irregularities pursuant to art. 2409 of the Italian Civil Code" and "corporate acquisition contracts – new terminologies and typical clauses";
- 1998 representative and consultant of the Italian Publishers Association at sessions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in preparation for the Italian position within the Stockholm Convention on copyright and related rights, as well as, always in the same quality, various workshops organized both at university level and at the level of private and / or associative organizations on the future of intellectual property and protection techniques;
- 1998 commissioned by the Italian Publishers Association – collaborates in the realization of a bill on the adaptation of Italian legislation to the TRIPS agreements of 1995 concluded by Italy within the World Trade Organization;
- 1996 speaker on Copyright issues with particolar reference to EU Directives on database and terms of protection – IGEP Meeting in Venice, the speech was published in the meeting’s proceedings;
- 1995- 2006 various interventions in Conferences of Prassi Comune organized by the Bolognese Lawyers’ bar association and Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura (CSM) Decentralized Training on reforms of civil procedural law and reflections on bankruptcy law and speaker at a meeting on precautionary proceedings pursuant to art. 146 l.f.;
- 1993-95 speaker in post-graduate courses organized by the University of Bologna and SPISA in the field of industrial law, copyright and new frontiers of intellectual property protection;
- 1986 speaker in a workshop Economic and legal aspects of the musician profession – Centro Professione Musica – Milan - dedicated to the professional training of operators in the recording, music and software area;
- 1984 speaker at a conference for AIJA, an international association of lawyers on the international sale of technologies, general terms and conditions and applicable international conventions;
- 1982 internship at the Chambre de Commerce Internationale in Paris, the Court of Arbitration of the ICC in Paris and at the departments of the ICC responsible for the drafting of incoterms and of uniform banking rules;
- 1982 specialization in private international law and international contracts IFOA – Reggio Emilia – top rank;
- 1979-1983 he collaborated with the Institute of Civil Procedure of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bologna as a volunteer assistant to prof. Carnacini, Vellani and Carpi.

Activity as a professional lawyer


Since 1979 he has been working as a lawyer in the field ofintellectual and industrial property, corporate and commercial law and contracts, also in terms of Community and international law. He deals with judicial activity in these matters and assistancein M&A. In these areas:
 From July 1983 to present he moved to Bologna to manage and own Studio Cagli-Alessandri in Bologna, and created a structure of lawyers specialized in commercial, industrial and civil law counting among the clients, multinationals operating in the distribution of drugs, the major Italian and some foreign school and university publishers and their associations, a well-known Bolognese sports club, companies active in the field of sports sponsorship and cultural events, companies in the mechanical industry, construction, production and distribution of food, in the field of parapharmaceutical, distribution and finance. As part of the development of the sector of the activity of copyright and intellectual property protection, he has represented Italian and multinational companies in legal proceedings, also before the Constitutional Court and in proceedings before the Italian Competition and Market Authority, in patent cases, software, intellectual property in general, unfair competition and trademark matters and in acquisition activities, participation in procedures for the privatization of public companies. He has dealt with liability actions of corporate bodies both on behalf of bankruptcy proceedings, appointed by bankruptcies for causes in this sector, and on behalf of directors and auditors as their defender in actions promoted by bankruptcies, companies and / or creditors.
 in 1983 he moved to Rome called to carry out his professional activity in Studio Carnelutti in Rome as referent and manager of the judicial activity sector of the firm and coordinator of the activity of external consultants and professional also in the extrajudicial activities of the firm. In this period he dealt with judicial activities, international procurement and procurement contracts, international and community law, industrial and commercial law, arbitration and contracts.
 from 1981 to 1983 he collaborated with prof. avv. Giorgio Bernini with a studio in Bologna, in the field of international law, international arbitrations and commercial, industrial and contractual law, both judicially and extrajudicially;
 from 1979 to 1982 prosecutor at The Cagli Law Firm in Bologna with the lawyer. Mario Cagli: area of activity: industrial, commercial and contractual law.

- from 2011 to the present date of OCI Osservatorio sulla Crisi di Impresa - an interdisciplinary study group that brings together magistrates, university professors, bankruptcy trustees and qualified accountants and promotes research on legal interpretation and economic-business data involved in the procedures of the composition with creditors and bankruptcy agreements, as well as on restructuring agreements.
