Curriculum vitae

Michele Dragoni graduated in physics cum laude in the University of Bologna and obtained a degree cum laude of the Scuola di Perfezionamento in Fisica in the same university. He was granted a CNR fellowship at the Arizona State University (USA). He was researcher and then associate professor of theoretical seismology in the University of Bologna. He became full professor in the University of Bari, where he was director of the Department of Geology and Geophysics. At present he is full professor of physics of the Earth in the University of Bologna. His research activity is carried out in the field of solid Earth geophysics, mainly theoretical seismology and physics of volcanism. He is author of over 120 scientific publications in international journals. He was a member of the Consiglio Nazionale Geofisico (CONAG); the Giunta of the Department of Physics, University of Bologna; the Comitato interno di valutazione and then the Consiglio direttivo of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV). He has been a member of the editorial board of the journal Annals of Geophysics and associate editor of the journal Geophysical Research Letters. From 2006 to 2015 he was the coordinator of the PhD Course in Geophysics at the University of Bologna. He has been principal investigator in several research projects funded by national and European institutions.
