Short Bio

Researcher at the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (ISAC) of the National Research Council (CNR) in Bologna since 2004 and Senior Researcher since 2010.


Contract Professor at the Ferrara University, from the A.Y. 2005/2006 to the A.Y. 2009/2010, teaching climatology for the Master degree in Physics.

Contract Professor at the Bologna University, from the A.Y. 2009/2010 to the A.Y. 2012/2013, teaching climatology for the Bachelor's degree in Physics of the Atmosphere and Meteorology and, since the AY 2013/2014, for the Master degree in Physics of the Earth System.


His research activity focuses on past and future climate variability and change with the aim of analyzing the regional climate and its variability and trends in Italy, in the Greater Alpine Region and in the whole Euro-Mediterranean region within a time frame of about 200 years, with longest records dating back to 1750s.

A recent research interest is the use of these datasets for climate impact assessment.
