Registration of Internship

To whom it may concern. The lists of the different forms of "internship", periodically posted in the "AlmaEsami" website, are automatically posted by the system: in fact, from the administrative viewpoint the internship is treated as an exam. However, in order to register the internship, it is not necessary that the student enters his/her name into a list.

Once the student has completed the internship, he/she must go through the following steps:

After completing the total number of hours of the internship, the student inserts into the "SOL-Tirocini" site the record of attendance, bearing the attendance dates and signatures. Then, the student fills up the mandatory questionnaire.
The Company supervisor of the student (assuming that the internship is carried out in a Company), informs the University supervisor of the student that the internship is completed. If the Internship is carried out within the University, this step is skipped.
The University supervisor examines the student's report, approves it, and informs the administration ("Ufficio tirocini") that the technical part of the internship is concluded.
The administration carries out a final check of the administrative issues, then sends the Commission (currently chaired by M. R.) a message, to which the student's report is annexed, along with the indication that the internship can be registered.
The University supervisor sends the Commission a message with a short list of the internship topics, to be inserted into the registration minutes.
The Commission proceeds with the registration of the internship. For this operation the presence of the student is not necessary; also, it is not necessary that for registering the internship the student enters his/her name in any list of exams.

It is important to pay attention to the registration date. In fact, since the internship is considered as an exam, it is subjected to the rule that states that all exams must be registered no later than about a month prior to the date of the final (graduation) exam; otherwise, the time is not sufficient for thenbsp; administration to carry out the analysis of the students' careers.
Therefore, it is important that a student who is involved in an internship, and wishes to graduate soon after completing it, asks the University supervisor to interact with the Commission, so that the latter receives the information in due time.

Company Graphene-XT of Anzola dell'Emilia (BO) proposes the following Internship for the preparation of the thesis.

The Internship consists in the implementation and characterization of sensors for CO2 measurements. The first part of the activity consists in the preparation of the sensor over commercial electrodes; in this activity the student will be instructed and assisted by chemists. The second part consists in performing electric measurements tocharacterize the sensor. Part of the activity will also be devoted to improving the measuring system.

The duration of this Internship involves a number of credits larger than that associated to the activity "Internship for preparation for the final examination" of the syllabus. For this reason, student that are willing to start this activity are invited to consult first with their thesis supervisor.

93391 - Semiconductor Devices and Quantum Computing M - Academic Year 2021-2022

The course will start on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 9am.
The agenda is Tuesdays 9-12 (9am-noon), Thursdays 17-19 (5pm-7pm), Fridays 11-14 (11am-2pm).
All classes will be held by Internet connection using the "Teams" platform.
Some material has already been uploaded in the "Virtuale" website.
For the moment, the audio recordings present in "Virtuale" are the copy of those of the Academic Year 2020-2021. The new audio recordings will be uploaded on a day-by-day basis, at the end of each lesson. The material of the "Virtuale" website marked with "21-22" is new and pertains to the present Academic Year.

Emergency due to the coronavirus

Following the instructions from the University (Decree no. 266/2020 reg. no. 0047602 of March 5, 2020), the exams of the March 19 list will be held, using a computer connection, only for:
A. students who have submitted the application for graduation;
B. students whose condition of student expires in March 2020 due to the lack of registered exams.
C. students availing themselves of Ergo fellowships or other benefits related to excellence.
Then, the March 19 list shifts to April 21; students already registered in the list, and not belonging to groups A, B, C above, are kept in the list. Students of the class "Physics of Semiconductor Devices, Memories and Sensors (I. C.)" whose registration numbers are 949925 and 933358 are also included in the April 21 list. All remaining students may register in the April 23 list, or in later lists, as soon as such lists will be opened.
