Maria Giuseppina Muzzarelli born in Bologna (26th.10.1951) BA (luglio 1973) with honors (overall mark of 110+/110) in Philosophy from the University of Bologna (Facoltà di “Lettere e Filosofia”) with a thesis on Medieval History.
Her field of research is History, including the History of Culture, Society and Mentality during the Medieval period, in particular the Low Middle Ages. She also studies the history of Penitence in the High Middle Ages. Specifically she deals with the history of Preaching, Economical Ethics and the Monti di Pietà. In addition she studies Sumptuary Laws, History of Fashion and Women’s History.
