Maria Gabriella Maurizii obtained the degree in Biological
Sciences in 1985 at the University of Siena. From 1987
to 2001 she worked as a Research Assistant at the Department
of Biology of the University of Bologna. Since 2001 she is
Researcher at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Bologna
where she teachs "Development Biology". The research
activity has been mainly focused on the
organization and characterization of some cytoskeleton components
(cytokeratins and tubulins) during the differentiation of ovarian
follicle of Podarcis sicula. The studies on
cytokeratins characterization and organization have been extended
to the differentiating epidermis of reptiles and the
studies on microtubules organization in vertebrates have been
extended to the differentiating gonads and embryos of
some mitiles. Recently, she is interested to study
the characterization and localization of Vasa and PL10
proteins during the early oogenesys of the lizard Podarcis
sicula; these proteins are involved in the differentation
of germinal cells. She is author or coauthor of several papers
published on international refereed journals.
