Born in Macerata (Italy) on February 25, 1959, married, two
daughters.
She received the M.D. degree from University of Bologna, Italy
in 1984 and the Specialization degree in Physical Therapy and
Rehabilitation from University of Milan in 1987. She is
Associate Professor at the University of Bologna, Faculty of
Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
- From 1987 to 1989 she collaborated in gait analysis
studies at the BioEngineering Centre, Politecnico of Milan, Italy
under the supervision of Prof. Boccardi, Prof. Pedotti and Prof.
Frigo.
- From 1985 and 1990 she worked as Physiatrist in Veruno,
Milan and Modena in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Departments.
- From 1990 to March 2005 she was assistant
researcher at the Movement Analysis Laboratory of the Istituto
Ortopedico Rizzoli, Bologna.
- From March 2005 she is Assistant Professor at the
Movement Analysis Laboratory, Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli,
Bologna
- From 2011 she is Director of the PHysical Medicne and Rehabilitation Unit of IRCSS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY
Since 1994 she has held courses on Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation at the University of Bologna where, since 2005, she
is affiliated as Associate Professor (Medical Degree students,
Podiatric, Orthopaedic Technicians, Professional Educators and
Physiotherapy Degree students, School of Specialization in Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Rheumatology, Occupational
Medicine, Orthopaedics).
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
She was in the Scientific Committee of several Courses and
Congresses. She is a member of SIMFER
(Italian Society of Physical Medicine Doctors). Since 2003 she in
the Editorial Borad of the European Journal of Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation. She was one of the founder members of
the Italian Society of Clinical Movement Analysis (SIAMOC). She was
a member of the Council for four years, vice president for two
years, President of the SIAMOC Society
in the years 2003-2005, past President in the
2005-2007 years. She was one of the founders of ISPO IOtalia, and treasurer.
RESEARCH ACTIVITY
Her research interests include orthopaedic rehabilitation, clinical application of movement
analysis, particularly gait analysis, dynamic electromyography,
joint biomechanics in the orthopedic and rehabilitation field.
PUBLICATIONS
She published several papers on gait analysis in
Orthoapedics, Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine. H Index 36.
